Background

Industry and Assessors have raised that it was not possible to demonstrate compliance with the Future Homes Standard (FHS2025) in the consultation Home Energy Model (HEM) software using buildable specifications for a range of house types. 

The Future Homes Hub (FHH) met with Department of Levelling Up Housing and Communities (DLUHC) and Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) to discuss this, and other related issues, to identify actions that might be taken to help to address or clarify concerns and support effective consultation feedback. Government advised the notional dwelling specifications will pass and could be used to respond to the consultation. As an output of this meeting the FHH produced the following advice note.
