Date / Time:
Friday, 20th February 2026 - 1-2PM.
What is the webinar about?
Join us for an informative webinar on High-Quality SuDs - Realising Consumer Benefit Cost-Effectively.
The Government wants to see the consistent inclusion of high quality sustainable drainage (SuDS) in all new development - and is proposing under the current revision of the NPPF that all planning applications should show that schemes have been designed in accordance with the new National Standards for SuDS launched in summer 2025.
While there are challenges in implementing the Standards, there are also consumer and business opportunities to harness. The webinar will present two important pieces of research undertaken for the Enabling Water Smart Communities project:
- Bertie Wnek, Associate Director at Public First, will speak about its "Planning for Water: The Value Of High-Quality SuDS" report on the consumer and wider public benefits
- Stuart Edwards, Project Delivery Manager at United Utilities, will present the EWSC research on "Benefit-cost analysis for high-quality SuDS" which he led. There will also be an opportunity for feedback on and discussion of both pieces of research
