GS8, and Octopus Energy have created the UK’s largest “Zero Bills” community at this 113-home development, Carpenters Yard, in Epping. This is the UK’s first Zero Bills microgrid community, featuring air source heat pumps in every home, in roof solar on each property, and a large, centralised communal battery.

Together, this integrated energy system will deliver zero home energy bills for residents for at least five years. The development includes homes for market sale and affordable rent, with first occupancy taking place soon. The visit will include a tour of the site, a discussion on the delivery process, as well as time for Q&A.
