How can the sector set a viable course to net zero, while delivering 1.5M homes and addressing other pressures?

In April, the Hub launched the sector’s Net Zero Transition Plan. This is the sector’s first step towards quantifying the carbon impact of building and operating new homes, and coordinating to achieve government’s net zero ambitions.

Our panel will cover the key conclusions from the plan, its initial decarbonisation pathway, and how this was modelled with input from the sector and the supply chain. We will go on to discuss the work we now need to do to bring about reductions in embodied carbon, and how collaboration with the sector is critical to deliver on the plan.

Why doesn’t the graph reach zero? But embodied carbon isn’t regulated? Will net zero block delivery of more homes? What about smaller developers who don’t have sustainability teams? Join us on Friday 20th June to join the discussion and find out how you can get involved.

Meet our Speakers:

Dan Neasham

Head of Sustainability and Performance

An engineer by background, Daniel spent equal stints working within consultancy and then heading up MEP and Technology for a large urban property developer prior to joining the Future Homes Hub. Gaining a technical background in sustainable building services, and then applying this client-side has led to a deep appreciation of the need to carefully balance many factors in the pursuit of quality, sustainable, viable development. At the Future Homes Hub, Daniel heads up work on the Net Zero Transition Plan and Sector Sustainability Metrics, along with leading working groups on FHS implementation.
