During the visit, Steff Wright will share Gusto Homes’ experience of delivering homes aligned with the AECB (Association for Environment Conscious Building) CarbonLite standard, alongside a guided site tour and Q&A session. You’ll have the opportunity to explore AECB A-rated homes at various stages of construction.
The AECB standard focuses on reducing energy demand and carbon emissions through high-performance building fabric, improved airtightness and quality construction. As a result, AECB homes can reduce CO₂ emissions by around 70% compared to the average UK new-build home, while also helping homeowners enjoy lower energy bills and a more comfortable living environment year-round.
The AECB defines these homes as:
- Energy efficient – A ‘fabric first’ approach ensures excellent performance and a consistent indoor climate all year round
- Comfortable and healthy – High levels of thermal comfort, minimal draughts and thermal bridging, and superior indoor air quality through advanced ventilation systems
- Low carbon – Designed to maximise the efficiency of heat pumps through high levels of insulation and increased performance standards
- Quality assured – Built on robust standards rooted in Passivhaus principles, with trained certifiers ensuring consistency of the AECB standard
At Easthorpe Green, Gusto Homes has adopted this approach offering a distinctive, high-quality product within the market.
We hope you can join us as we share our experience, insights, and the challenges we faced along the way.
