As renewable technologies become an increasingly important part of new-home design and compliance, successful delivery depends on much more than selecting individual products or systems.


This technical visit to Solfit will introduce Solfit’s Renewable Solution Framework and demonstrate how early, coordinated specification can give housebuilders greater control while reducing design, compliance, installation, programme and long-term performance risk.


Attendees will follow the complete renewable delivery journey, from Future Homes Standard compliance modelling and coordinated system design through to architectural and electrical integration, product selection, installer competency, installation quality, certification, warranty protection and homeowner handover.


The visit will combine expert briefings, practical demonstrations and open discussion, showing how renewable specification and delivery can be turned into a controlled, repeatable workstream across multiple developments and housing types.

Lee Chadwick, Group Managing Director, Solfit


Lee has extensive operational and leadership experience across the renewable energy, construction and new-build housing sectors.  As Group Managing Director of Solfit, he leads the development of the company’s Renewable Solution Framework, helping housebuilders move from fragmented product procurement towards a coordinated approach covering compliance, specification, delivery, certification, warranty protection and homeowner outcomes.  Lee will introduce the overall Renewable Solution Framework and discuss how early coordination can reduce risk throughout the renewable delivery process.

Ewen Estill, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Solfit


Ewen developed Solfit following many years of direct experience installing solar systems and identifying the practical limitations of conventional approaches.   He leads Solfit’s technical and product development, with a focus on creating compliant, installer-friendly solutions that simplify installation while protecting roof performance, safety and durability.  Ewen will lead the practical product and installation demonstration.

Phil Byers, Group Commercial Director, Solfit


Phil combines commercial, financial and new-build delivery experience with a practical understanding of the pressures faced by housebuilders, contractors and supply-chain partners.  He focuses on the commercial and programme implications of renewable specification, including cost certainty, procurement, responsibility, scalability and the risks created by fragmented or late-stage decision-making.  Phil will lead the discussion on specifying and delivering renewable solutions consistently at scale.

Michelle Gilmore, Head of Design, Solfit


Michelle is an experienced renewable-energy design professional with a strong focus on developing coordinated, practical and deliverable technical solutions.  Michelle will lead the session on moving from Future Homes Standard compliance modelling to coordinated renewable design. She will explore how system sizing, architectural integration, electrical architecture and compliance requirements need to be considered together at the earliest possible stage to reduce risk and create solutions that can be delivered consistently across multiple house types and developments.

Adrian Percival - Head of Training & Quality, Solfit


Adrian brings specialist experience in renewable installation management, training, auditing and quality assurance. He has previously held responsibility for solar installation teams across England and Wales, ensuring installations were compliant, consistently delivered and completed to the required technical standard. His experience includes installer training, on-site auditing and the management of internal and external quality-assurance processes.  Adrian will lead the session on installer competency, training, installation auditing and quality control. He will demonstrate how defined installation methodologies, effective training and consistent auditing help reduce installation variation, support certification and prevent avoidable remedial work or delays to plot handover.
